Enjoy Alicante All Year Round
You can enjoy the city of Alicante at any time of year.
At just over 2 hours flying time from the UK the city really does offer an all year round attraction. Whatever the season there is something happening in Alicante, from the numerous fiestas held thorough out the year to the wall to wall sunshine you can expect in the summer months and of course the shopping, museums and art galleries can be explored at any time of the year.
Elsewhere on this site we've covered topics in detail, but the brief answers below will help you make your choice.
What's the weather like away from high summer?
In a word - beautiful! The average winter temperature is 16 degrees and being backed
by a mountain range Alicante is sheltered from the chillier winds. In the winter you can expect around six hours of sunshine each day.
What's on by way of night time entertainment in winter?
So much that you will find it hard to choose!
With a full programme of fiestas you can still 'party' in the winter months and because it’s a city and not just a resort, the fun never stops, particularly at weekends.
I like a choice. Do many daytime bars and cafes remain open?
The beauty of Alicante is that it is a vibrant city, so all the restaurants and bars are open all year round although they may not go on until the wee small hours in the low season.
Plus, if you visit in the cooler months you will find that you'll explore more and discover places that perhaps you wouldn't have found in the hot high season.
What about tourist attractions and other things I may want to see? As you'll see from the section 'Things to do', the cities museums, art galleries and attractions are all open and the surrounding
areas offer lots of options for day trips.
What about winter?
Alicante is a great destination for people of all ages. Visit for a quick weekend break or come for a week, you will not be disappointed. There are so many things to do... and don't forget the shopping girls! It's fantastic!
Are there plenty of flights all year?
Definitely! Alicante is well served by charter and budget airlines alike.
What's the atmosphere like away from the summer season?
Just wonderful, as anyone visiting in winter, spring or autumn will tell you. For a start you can explore to your hearts content without working up a sweat! You can stroll along the paseo in the pleasantly warm sunshine or hire a car and visit the surrounding towns while the roads are less busy. It’s a gem just waiting to be discovered.
So now you know. See you soon.
