Javea is located 40 km North of Benidorm, about 90 minutes drive from Alicante following the N-332 coast road until you see the signs to turn off to Javea. The regions main crops are citrus fruits and the town is especially beautiful and fragrant in the spring time when the orange and lemon trees blossom.
The Town is quite large, with over 20,000 inhabitants. Frequent pirate attacks during the 17th and 18th century forced the population to settle 2 km from the coast, although now the town stretches down to the marina and the port area with beautiful sandy beaches and beautiful views of the Cabo de Nao, the headline which separates the Valencian coastline from the Alicante coastline.

There are kilometres of beaches, some fine and sandy such as the main beach Playa Arenal, others pebbly, there are even official nudist beaches.
