The Alicante Marina & El Puerto Complex
For
a touch of luxury during your visit to Alicante, meander down to the marina
where you can have a taste of the finer things in life! With its modern El
Puerto complex housing stylish bars and refined restaurants it's not just
for those nautical coves amongst you!
Enjoy
a coffee in the modernistic café bars and spot the one with a terrace suspended
over the sea from which you can watch the fish dart back and forth, or have
a gastronomic experience in one of the many sea food restaurants and mingle
with the rich and glamorous.
Whilst
over on the Harbour side of the marina you can explore the Panoramis Centre.
To get there take the short ferry boat ride that leaves from the beach or
stroll along the paseo alongside the marina. Once there you will find modern
bars and restaurants intermingled with shops and its marvelous curved glass
roof affords you fabulous views of the Santa
Barbara castle and the marina.
And
in the evening, there can be nothing better than taking a moonlight stroll
along its wide promenades, stopping occasionally to marvel at the expensive
yachts, or to sit on one of the many benches and engage in that centuries
old activity of people watching. For culture vultures, in the summer months
of July and August, the Plaza del Puerto Viejo stages an International festival
boasting recitals of classical music, ballet and jazz along with theatre
performances.
Day or night, I'm sure you'll agree, the marina area really does have an ambiance all of its own.
