Shops plus total entertainment
Alicante City Centre
Although this is strictly an entertainment centre with a cinema, bars and restaurants, it does also have a number of shops. Open all through the day and early evening the shops are independent, small businesses selling handicrafts, jewellery and clothing. If nothing else the building is certainly worth a look for its impressive position on the port, and there are plenty of places where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch!

Street Market
A colourful market that's easy on the pocket
Alicante City Centre
Walk along the Esplanada at any time of year and you will see a cluster of colourful market stalls. Competitively priced, these stalls provide a wide and varied selection of products from around the world. You can find silver jewellery from India, artefacts from Indonesia and leather goods from Spain displayed alongside clothing, handbags and gifts. It's a great place to while away an hour or two, wandering up and down the stalls in the dappled shade and enjoying a little retail therapy that won't cost a fortune.
